Datascan Document Services Awarded Highest Accolade For Information Security

Risk of data breaches reduced.

Datascan ISO 27001

Datascan Document Services, one of Ireland’s leading specialist document service providers, has been accredited an ISO 27001 certification by BQAI. This is the highest standard for information security, which provides customers with firm reassurance that their data is secured safely.  The BQAI is an accredited management system certification body focused on business improvement, sustainability and performance.

In light of recent cyber-attacks, this accreditation confirms that Datascan Document Services has safeguards in place to ensure the protection of customer information. Datascan Document Services, which specialises in medical records and all types of commercial documents, is continually committed to information security and has been accredited an ISO 9001 for a number of years. The company has been in operation since 1993, with 50 employees based at its Finglas facility.

Orla Cafferty, Director, Datascan Document Services said: “We are delighted to be accredited with an ISO 27001 certification by BQAI. This is an industry acknowledgement of our continued commitment to information security. This is a validation for the services that our team of experts provide. There are many challenges that face businesses including the implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation in May 2018, which will allow for the tightening and harmonisation of the rules on Data Protection. This will empower the local Data Protection Commissioner with the ability to impose onerous fines on businesses found in breach. Through Datascan Document Services, businesses can avoid such fines and securely retrieve, extract vital data and validate the outputs without ever having to see a hard copy document, which is very powerful in business today.”

Datascan Document Services offers flexibility to companies by working within an enterprise’s existing systems, and has Data Protection advisors in-house to inform customers on potential information risks and build controls to combat threats.

The company’s dedicated scanning bureau is focused on saving businesses money by scanning, digitally indexing and returning documents in a format that best suits their requirements. These services will confer added benefits to companies as the imminent General Data Protection Regulation will place responsibility on organisations to control their own and client information.

Every week, businesses in Ireland waste hours of administrative time looking for hard-copy documents. Datascan Document Services offering enables it to deliver key documents to businesses in a format that can be easily integrated in to internal software packages, CRM or business intelligence systems. This provides customers with instant access to key documents, such as invoices, order/delivery dockets, job cards and work sheets. This enables them to significantly reduce debtor days, save administrative time and burden and eliminate the risk of hard-copy document loss or damage over time.
