What is Datascan GP ?

Datascan GP is a batch scanning service for GP’s for incoming correspondence to their practice.   This service is based on a fixed price subscription model which enables the surgery to budget for the scan service for up to 1 year.*

Scanning and keying of incoming correspondence is time consuming in the practice and can build up when staff have other tasks to do which are deemed to be more urgent.  Datascan GP service saves the practice time and money by enabling them to keep their patient management system right up to date. Having up to date patient information also allows the GPs to provide an improved patient experience.

How it Works

Step 1

Arrange a Free telephone consultation with a Datascan GP representative who will talk you through the package options to suit your surgery.  A surgery with more than 3 practising GPs may require more than 1 batch per week.

Step 2

GP Practice subscribes to the Scan Importer tool with their patient software provider.  This is a wizard that enables surgery staff to import matched scans directly to the patient record.  (not available with all packages yet)

Step 3

Sign up for the Datascan GP service and complete the necessary Data Processing Agreements and pay online options.

Step 4

We use GoCardless so we never have access to your financial data.

Step 5

When all of the paperwork is signed up you will receive your Datascan GP box in the post.DatascanGP box

Step 6

This will have your supply of Secure Document Pouches and an instruction booklet.

Step 7

You fill the Datascan GP bag with letters, results  and reports etc.

Step 8

When a Datascan GP bag is full you simply seal the bag up and drop it to your local An Post post office.

Step 9

No need to pay at the post office, this is an all- inclusive service.

Step 10

The An Post team member will give you a proof of sending receipt which you should keep note of.

Step 11

When your Datascan GP bag arrives at our premises its barcode is scanned as received.

Final Step

In accordance with our SLA your bag will be securely scanned, matched to your patients id and delivered to you via encrypted secure cloud.
