As we celebrate our 25th anniversary in business this year, we cannot help but feel a deep sense of appreciation and gratitude towards our customers, team and stakeholders who have contributed to our success and growth over the years. Here, Orla Cafferty CEO tells the story of a family business that has evolved and continues to thrive.
Family business
“Datascan is a real family business started by my own parents Padraic and Patricia Cafferty in 1998. At that time Datascan operated from a small business unit in Glasnevin, north Dublin and we had a core team scanning mastheads from newspapers on behalf of Independent news and media PLC.
If we fast forward 25 years and two premises moves later, Datascan has evolved and diversified to become a comprehensive data services organisation. We now process all manner of sensitive data records from medical and financial records to CCTV redaction and editing and of course we still process sale or return data for the newsprint industry in Ireland.

I’m incredibly proud of our team here at Datascan, some of whom have been with us for the whole 25 years of our business journey. I would like to thank our entire team for their continued hard work and enthusiasm as we look forward to the future beyond 25 years of Datascan. I’d like also to say a special thank you to our loyal customers who continue to place their trust in us to process their business critical data.
